El proyecto reúne obras que nos permiten acceder a otros mundos, planos de la existencia o saberes no hegemónicos en relación a lo ritual, lo ancestral, lo mágico, lo oscuro, lo sincrético, lo espiritual.

Las obras ofrecen rutas experimentales y alejadas de lo sistémico para llegar al conocimiento, la sanación, la paz mental, la liberación, el empoderamiento o a otros niveles de con- ciencia. Se trata de verdades que no se corresponden con la visión científica y racional mainstream.

El medio principal es el cuerpo, un cuerpo que respira, realiza movimientos, los repite hasta el trance, pronuncia oraciones, recita mantras, ingiere sustancias, desplaza objetos, los dota de simbolismo, realiza acciones extremas para aumentar la energía o activar ciclos de destrucción y regeneración. Un cuerpo que se mezcla con la naturaleza, muta, se hibrida, conecta con la “fuente”, el cosmos y aspira a la transcendencia.

Ana Matey estará representada con las obras «108» y «Dona tú Aliento». Una serie de cuatro dibujos y dos vídeocreaciones.

La comisaria nos dice sobre las obras:

De unir microcosmos y macro cosmos habla la serie de acciones

El 108 es un numero ligado a distintas filosofías (hinduismo, budismo) y distintos saberes que lo consideran sagrado. La artista ejecuta diferentes acciones a modo de ritual: desplaza distintas ramas al estudio, medita realizando 108 giros con la rama en la cabeza y vuelve al lugar del bosque donde encontró las ramas para volver a realizar la acción. Trabaja con el equilibrio como una manera de frenar los pensamientos de la mente y no dejar que la inunden.

Realizar estas acciones en la naturaleza es una búsqueda de unión con ella, de trascender lo corpóreo y así el límite o frontera que establecemos con aquello a lo que pertenecemos. Ya que antes de ser animales culturales somos animales naturales.

El aliento como vida y el aire como elemento que une todo lo vivo. Las piezas de hielo siempre son de agua que la artista reco- ge de la lluvia o piezas de hielo que recolecta durante el invierno en su jardín. Por lo tanto, la acción trabaja con lo esencial, con aquello sin lo cual no podríamos vivir, el agua y el aire.

The curator tells us about the works:

The series of actions speaks of uniting microcosm and macrocosm.

108 is a number linked to different philosophies (Hinduism, Buddhism) and different knowledge that considers it sacred. The artist performs different actions as a ritual: she moves different branches to the studio, meditates by making 108 turns with the branch on her head and returns to the place in the forest where she found the branches to perform the action again. She works with balance as a way of stopping the thoughts of the mind from flooding it.

Performing these actions in nature is a search for union with it, to transcend the corporeal and thus the limit or boundary we establish with that to which we belong. For before being cultural animals, we are natural animals.

Breath as life and air as the element that unites all living things. The pieces of ice are always made of water that the artist collects from the rain or pieces of ice that she collects during the winter in her garden. Therefore, the action works with the essential, with that without which we could not live, water and air.
